I was wondering if the NWN ebuilds in portage would work with this or if I have to just follow the rather complicated steps on Bioware's NWN linux forum. Any help greatly apreciated. |

You probably want to go with the instructions on Bioware's forums and install it as your user in a directory like ~/games/nwn. It'll probably work much better for you this way - at best, I've heard the ebuild to be very hard to use, at worst, I've heard them described as totally broken. |

If the ebuild's broken, report it on bugzilla.
A good starting point would be to install it both through the ebuilds, and manually, then compare both installations by running something like:
Code: | diff --speed-large-files -q -r /usr/local/games/nwn /opt/nwn |
Then include the result of that in the bug report.
To actually run the game, be aware that executables in /usr/local/bin probably have priority over ebuild-installed executables in /usr/games/bin (by appearing first in $PATH), to know which installation you're running. |
