I have a data partition that I share between gentoo and OSX. But I'm getting this error when I try to mount it:

Code:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hda7,
       missing codepage or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
       dmesg | tail  or so

Here some relevant info...

dmesg:
Code:

hfs: can't find a HFS filesystem on dev hda5

Heres my partition table:

Code:

#                    type name                  length   base      ( size )  system
/dev/hda1     Apple_partition_map Apple                     63 @ 1         ( 31.5k)  Partition map
/dev/hda2         Apple_Bootstrap bootstrap               1600 @ 64        (800.0k)  NewWorld bootblock
/dev/hda3         Apple_UNIX_SVR2 swap                 2097152 @ 1664      (  1.0G)  Linux swap
/dev/hda4         Apple_UNIX_SVR2 root                29620608 @ 2098816   ( 14.1G)  Linux native
/dev/hda5               Apple_HFS Apple_HFS_Untitled_1  93124784 @ 31719424  ( 44.4G)  HFS
/dev/hda6              Apple_Free                       262144 @ 124844208 (128.0M)  Free space
/dev/hda7               Apple_HFS Apple_HFS_Untitled_2  31195120 @ 125106352 ( 14.9G)  HFS
/dev/hda8              Apple_Free                           16 @ 156301472 (  8.0k)  Free space

fstab:
Code:

/dev/hda4               /               ext3            noatime         0 1
/dev/hda3               none            swap            sw              0 0
/dev/hda7               /mnt/data       hfs             auto,user,noatime         0 0
/dev/cdroms/cdrom0      /mnt/cdrom      iso9660         noauto,ro       0 0

What could be causing this? I had it working at somepoint but after emerging a variety of things, it doesn't seem to work anymore. I'm running ~ppc, so I have a feeling some important package got changed. What it is, I have no idea unfortunately. Any help would be much appreciated. It works fine from OSX so I'm pretty sure its not a corruption issue.

Cheers,
Robert

Are you sure it's not hfsplus?
