I can't the HAL daemon to start. Running it as a non-daemon with verbose output reveals this as the cause: Code: | :16:12.787 [I] hald_dbus.c:3251: entering
15:16:12.793 [E] hald_dbus.c:3269: dbus_bus_request_name(): Connection ":1.24" is not allowed to own the service "org.freedesktop.Hal" due to security policies in the configuration file

I had same problem - needed to restart dbus to read new config files for hal... _________________ 95% of all computer errors occur between chair and keyboard (TM)
