Alright guys, after trying for quite a few days to set uo wireless and add my bluetooth mouse on my laptop, I've given up and come here to beg for help
bluetooth: following instructions in this thread: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-444696-highlight-wireless.html
- I emerged bluex-libs and utils - all the steps there work until hidd --connect, which wouldn't work, i ended up using hidd --connect all to get it to do anything, but the response I get form that is "Can't get device infomation: Host is down"
Running "hcitool scan" has my bluetooth travel mouse showing up.
Thinking something was screwed up, I looked for other methods and came up with this one: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-161129-start-0.html
However, when emerging one of the packages, i got an error "error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool"
So! If anyone can give me some advice on how to set this up, that would be fantastic
UPDATE: I've managed to connect through my wireless now, so I have accordingly removed that problem. And an update on the bluetooth issue. Still no luck, I DID manage to emerge gnome-bluetooth, I found I had to emerge xml-parser not to cause errors when emerging gnome-bluetooth. This all brings me no closer to using my mouse though. I end up with the same problem. The computer detects my mouse, but can't connect to it. |
