I am looking for a solid email client that is similar in scope to evolution, but does not require gnome. I tried kmail, and it was good, just it had some problems with annoying HTML emails. Unfortunately, people I know like to send them and kmail had trouble with them. |

I think there is none.. sylpheed or sylpheed-claws is a good gtk replacement.. Doesnt require gnome either..
No Calendar etc in sylpheed but a very capable e-mail reader...
people who send html mail should be shoot... html is for the web not e-mail |

some time ago the sylpheed wasn't unicode compatible. this is a big minus. _________________ Do it or not. There is no try! |

There's Aethera from the Kompany. It's based on KMail, so I don't know if it'll have the same problems you have with KMail or not.
Another option is trying the new Mozilla based Minotaur, which apparently just released builds for Linux. It's pretty early, so it may be rough around the edges. But they're working from a pretty stable source tree, so it probably shouldn't take too long. |
