I have just bought a nForce 2 mobo after my PSU broke the last motherboard in the act of suicide. I was led to believe I could use the nvidia driver to enable AGP on this mobo. Anyway, I compiled the gaming-sources kernel to enable the IDE driver. I also turned the agpgart off completely.
I emerged nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx. Then edited XF86Config. The device section of my XF86Config is:
Section "Device"
Identifier "geforce 3"
#Driver "nv"
Driver "nvidia"
VideoRam 65536
Option "NvAGP" "1"
EndSection
I then start kde and find out that:
cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status
Status: Disabled
I am lost to what to try next, does anyone know how I can enable the AGP? |

Ok, I installed the latest drivers 4349 ebuilds and not the default ones. Did a quick reboot and:
Status: Enabled
Driver: NVIDIA
AGP Rate: 4x
Fast Writes: Disabled
SBA: Disabled
I just hope they are stable . |
