How to use router online?

My home router has already set up and can online after i plug the LAN line in window XP

but in gentoo

after plug the LAN , i can not surf internet

even can not go to home router configuartion page 192.168.1.254

how to do it?

Did you bring up the interface on your gentoo box that is connected to the router and run dhcpcd to get an ip ?

yes

i can online using pppoe-start without router

but i want to configure my private network using one router ( one ip)
