I need to be able to VPN to my office from within Gentoo at home. It is a microsoft domain but I'm not sure if we VPN against the Fireguard (Watchguard) or the Domain Controller. Is there a simple client I can use from within KDE?
I'm using KDE 3.5.2 on a 2.6.15-r7 kernel.
I've seen http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_PPTP_VPN_client_%28Microsoft-compatible_with_mppe%29 but I'm not happy about patching the kernel though. But I believe we use simple PPTP at work. Someone once told me simply installing FreeSWAN client would be sufficient as that's a robust VPN client (but that guy was using SuSE) _________________ WARNING: It is a violation of federal law to use me in a way inconsistent with my labelling. There's no need to patch 2.6.15, MPPE is already there. _________________ Adopt an unanswered post

Narusegawa,
Did you ever get your VPN connection to work? I have a similar problem with my university...
