I recently have been having some problems with gdm and gnome so I thought an unmerge and then re-emerge might do the trick. However I can no longer get gdm to compile properly.
The error I keep getting say that it cannot find the library libesd.la to link too. If I knew what package to emerge to hopefully put that library back in it's place I would emerge it, but I have no clue. Anyone else got any ideas? |

Code: |
# qpkg -f /usr/lib/libesd.la
# media-sound/esound *

Thanks, I was unaware of the qpkg command. I'll have to remember that as I'm sure it will come in handy later . |

To have the qpkg command you have to emerge "gentoolkit".
You could also emerge "epm" which has a rpm-like syntax. |
