No sound from centre speaker with 2.6.16

I have Gigabyte GA-K8NS motherboard (AMD 64) with and nForce3 250 chipset. Since upgrading to 2.6.16-gentoo-r7 there is no sound from one channel (centre) I'm using the line in, line out and mic sockets to ouput sound and have shared jack mode, duplicate front and 6 channel mode set in up in the alsa control. With the 2.6.15 kernel this configuration works. Has anyone else experienced this problem with 2.6.16 or am I alone?
