Howdy?
My ISP (charter pipeline) blocks port 25 So, the solution would be to use nonstandard port and some kind of "mail reflector" But the only one I found is at www.no-ip.com and it's rather pricey
Does anybody know a workaround for this situation? Or any suggestion??
Thanks |

Ask your ISP if they will smart-host for you. |

Unfortunately, they will not do anything, unless I buy a business package, and that's an overkill for my modest needs |

Strangely enough, I am running on Charter Pipeline and I have a mail server running with no problems. Are you sure they are filtering that port to you? |

I am in the exact same annoying boat as you (Charter Pipeline, in Madison, WI)
I found no solutions. It is impossible to run a mailserver on a nonstandard port and receive mail from the outside world, since ALL sendmail type programs send to 25 by default. You would have to teach every mail server that you would receive mail from that your server is on port 26 (or whatever) and that's just not feasible.
If you find a solution, please let me know.
As it is, I run my webserver on port 83 cause 80 is blocked. 21 is also blocked (FTP) but I don't run ftp anyways, so no big deal. |

If you are willing to pay $40, then you can use mail reflector - check out www.no-ip.com for more info, but I was hoping that somebody has another solution.... |
