Configuration is saved per user in ~/.mozilla. Just change the users view in the menu View -> Show/Hide.

my problem is though, that for users, i have no view menu, nor a file, edit etc.... I tried erasing the preferences, and that didnt work, so i created a new user. the new user also has no menu. This is really annoying.
I can't figure it out at all, I even recompiled mozilla.... |

Have you tried starting mozilla in a console under X, so you can check the output for errors (permissions). Well very very strange problem.
Sorry I can't help, lX. _________________ "Remember there's a big difference between kneeling down and bending over.", Frank Zappa |

Failed to load overlay chrome://mozgest/content/mozgestOverlay.xul
Hmmm, thats what i get when i do it from a console, not quite sure what that means. It sounds like it could have something to do with the sidebar popping up, but being empty....
thanks anyways |

Go under root and remove your extra themes. Many are not Mozilla 1.0 compliant. |

I had this problem the other day...after I installed the GoogleBar from MovDev (as root )
Anyways the cause was some weird permissions set on the /usr/lib/mozzilla directory. The googlebar had installed with only "root" read permissions and nothing else. So I changed them so everyone could read and then all was fine.
Let me know if you need more detailed instructions. _________________ "linux is only free if your time has no value" - Jamie Zawinski |
