Most wired cards will work with Linux without too many problems. 9/10 times, you can simply modprobe the right module and you're able to start configuring the network. It's the wireless cards that give everyone trouble.
I use a Netgear FA511 Fast Ethernet 10/100 NIC. It uses the "tulip" kernel module. I have never had problems with it. Gentoo install CD automatically detects it. _________________ -- Coplan
