The easy way.
Squirrelmail.
The hard way, depends on what your mail system uses for storage, php can send mail on it's own, so that isn't a problem.
You need to know if it is mbox or maildir, and read the apropriate spec. _________________ My Public Key

What do you mean "How abouut Java?"
Using Java to write it, as apposed to PHP? It wouldn't make any difference.
If you want to do this just to learn a language done, it is a big complicated system.
If you want to do this because you want working web mail, see squirrelmail etc.
This is no more difficult to do in php than in Java, but you need to know the language first. _________________ My Public Key
