|
|
Hello,
I've been meaning to learn more to solve this myself but i haven't got around to it yet.
if i want to shut down my machine i have to log out of kde[3.4] then change to super user and run shutdown. what's the best way for me to make shutdown easier? change the permissions perhaps? i don't know where.
thanks in advance. _________________ designwebtemplates.com.au

I would recommend installing sudo and giving your user the access to the shutdown and reboot commands. sudo is very handy if you want to give a user permissions to certain commands that would normally require root. _________________ meow. |

Another option would be to create a new group of users who can shut down the machine, and changing the group ownership of /sbin/halt to that new group. |
