Hello,
I have a gentoo computer in my office that many people will be using. I would like to setup each user with some default settings for gnome, such as OpenOffice links in the panel, browsing behavior in Nautilus, icon themes, and so on. Any suggetsions on how to do this? Would it be easiest to set up one of the users the way I want, and copy the gnome folders from that user's directory to the others?
Thanks for the help!

Hi,
This bug has an ebuild for Sabayon, which lets you create a Gnome user profile in an Xnest window, make any changes to that profile you want, save it and then apply it to other users. I think it will ship with Gnome 2.16 but it works with 2.14 right now. The nice thing is you can have multiple profiles with different settings for different classes of users. |
