Hello,
my computer has not any DB15 port (joystick port). Thus, I can't use my DB15/Midi cable to connect Midi keyboards to computers. There are some Midi to USB converters but the price is a little expensive in my opinion.
I have seen that there are DB15 to USB converters, which are cheaper (15 euros, in France). Could I use it and plug my DB15/Midi cable to be able to use Midi keyboards on my computer? Or have I really to buy a Midi to USB converters (from 50 euros to 100 euros)?

I would be very wary of any of the lower priced units. I am familiar with the chipsets and there is occasionally a problem with the drivers for certain chipsets. I tried a couple that I had around for programming my microcontroller and found that some of the drivers/chipsets aren't capable of the full set of serial instructions.
Whether this is pertinant to a MIDI connection, I do not know. I would recomend, however, that you choose one that uses a FTDI chipset. They are known to have good drivers for both windows and linux.

Best of luck!
