Hi everybody! Has anyone some troubles with xmodmap?? i have tried to install it manually, but it doesnt work out. Im not the code monkey in C, but i believe that some headers are missing. Well while posting this i already resolved, so anyway im going to post the word around.

If your emerge xmodmap fails, then re emerge this

emerge -av xextproto xproto xf86bigfontproto inputproto libXau bigreqsproto libXdmcp xcmiscproto xtrans libX11

and that should do the trick

What version of X are you using?
xmodmap comes with the current stable.

Code:
equery l xorg-x11
[ Searching for package 'xorg-x11' in all categories among: ]
 * installed packages
[I--] [  ] x11-base/xorg-x11-6.8.2-r7 (0)

Code:
equery f xorg-x11 | grep xmodmap
/usr/bin/xmodmap
/usr/lib64/X11/etc/xmodmap.std
/usr/share/man/man1/xmodmap.1x.gz

Since he mentioned emerging all those X packages, I'm assuming he uses modular X, which is in testing. :wink:
