Ok here is my issue.

on my user account I cannot play any installed games.

I can access the /usr/games, but not the sub directories.

The bin, include, and lib directories are owned by root, and games is the group.

Code:

drwxr-xr-x    5 games  root   120  May 24 12?:57  .
drwxr-xr-x   16 root    root   512  May 24 12:31    ..
drwxr-x---    2 root     games 296  May 24 14:28   bin
drwxr-x---    2 root     games 256  May 24 12:57   include
drwxr-x---    2 root     games 952  May 24 12:57   lib

My /etc/group for games is

Code:

games:!:35:digit

So I am at a loss. I did not change anything in the group or the directories.

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Also my acount digit$ is part of the wheel, audio, cdrom, video, users, games groups.

Sorry guys.

But is just did that last thing that I thought would fix this....a reboot.

Again this is strange I never had to reboot before. Maybe I had a stuck process or a stopped job that I didn't close out correctly :? .

A simple logout and re-login would also do the trick... :)
