Hi,
I just installed DRI and it seems to work pretty well with my Radeon All-In-Wonder 8500 DV. I get decent rates from glxgears (like 1600 fps I think, I'll check it next time I boot to linux). Just a couple caveats:
1) Whenever I try to run UT2003, it locks up when I start the game. Goes to black screen and just freezes.
2) My TV tuner doesn't seem to be recognized. Do I need to install GATOS ati.2 drivers instead of DRI and install km to get my tuner to work? Does GATOS provide equal speed, etc? Any compatability problems that anyone's noticed?

You need a patch to play UT2003 without S3TC, S3TC is only available in ATI-ClosedSource-Drivers..

As i remember is GATOS no capable to accelerate 3D, but i never tried them 'cause i've got a "raw" Radeon 8500
