|

I just rebooted to switch to the upgraded Kernel I just compiled, and now when I try to play a sound or song or anything, the first second of it just runs on an infinite loop until I force it to stop. Anyone know what might be causing this? |

Have you tried rebuilding Alsa? IIRC, you need to do that whenever you change your kernel... I could be wrong, but give it a shot |

I had ALSA built into the Kernel and I reinstalled ALSA-lib. I even tried switching over to the Portage drivers for ALSA with no luck. I'm currently using the Portage drivers and I'll probably stay with them, but I'd like to get this problem solved.
I upgraded the Kernel so I could get x11 back (I had problems when I updated my nVIDIA drivers), but personally I'd rather be able to listen to my music than have the GUI up, so if anyone has any ideas, please let me know. |

*bump*
If it hasn't been long enough sorry, just delete this. But I really would like to get this fixed. I hate not having sound. It's like it takes a whole dimension away from my computer enjoyment. |
