|

Hi,
I have a problem with my USB Storage Drive that I have not had before.
When I copy over files with nautilus to my USB Card the progress bar just swops by and it's done in a mare of seconds.
If I remove the card I get alot of I/O write errors in my kernel log, naturaly. But how to I fix this irritating problem.
Right now I can copy over everything, and just wait a while (an hour or so to be sure, depending on the amount of files) and just remove it, but that's really not what I look forward to.
Thanks for any help. |

Hi,
Do you have a desktop icon for your USB card? If you right-click on it, is there an "Eject" or "Unmount" choice? If so, using that should write cached data to the card. (I don't have any USB storage available at the moment or I would test this out.)
Also after you copy, you could type "sync" at a terminal. That should flush any cached data to disk, or in this case to your USB card. |

Yes, I have an icon for my USB card and It shows up in nautilus.
This has all been working good before. The problem is that it doesn't show the progress for the copy for the amount of time it actually takes for it to transfer them. |
