Hi,
I'm trying to install Gentoo 2006.0 from the LiveCD (no internet connection), everything works fine, except the installation of ANY GUI.
Let me get this clear:
The install works fine, I've actually managed to install it fine WITHOUT a GUI (ie a command line)
BUT as as soon as I try to install Gentoo with a GUI, it fails
I've tried KDE, GNOME and X11 (or whatever its called, its something like that but I cant remember)
It works fine untill it gets to compiling any of the above...why?
(NB: I'm trying to install without an internet connection)

That is during the install, when it has emerged everything else (stage tarball, kernel, GRUB etc etc), but everything else works and this doesn't.
Basically, it cant emerge KDE (cyrus-sasl is part of KDE) or any other GUI, it is because I'm trying to do it from the CD?
