|
|
Hi,
I've installed xorg 7.1 (unfortunately) and am having the font problem in KDE. So I want to remove it and install 7.0 instead.
I tried simply doing emerge --unmerge xorg-x11 and it removed 7.1. So then I emerge 7.0 but when I started X the logs showed the server version a still being 7.1 and consequently I still have the font issue.
So my question is what should I do? Do I need to go and umerge all the libraries that were originally emerged with 7.1 and re-install them with 7.0?
Thanks |

as far as I can see there is only something like 7 packages that distiguishes 7.0 from 7.1
add this to your /etc/portage/package.mask
=x11-base/xorg-server-1.1.0
=x11-base/xorg-x11-7.1
=x11-drivers/xf86-video-vesa-1.2.0
=x11-drivers/xf86-input-keyboard-1.1.0
=x11-drivers/xf86-input-mouse-1.1.1
=x11-drivers/xf86-video-nv-1.1.2
=x11-drivers/xf86-video-vesa-1.2.1
add these and then just do a emerge world -uvDa
IF I do not have these masked I get bumped up to xorg-7.1 _________________

Hi Naib,
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try that and see what happens and comment on it here. |
