volevo aggiungere il tool di gnome alla mia menu bar per tenre sott' occhio il lavoro della mia CPU, ma ho visto che non è supportata:

c'è un modo per fargli supportare la mia CPU? Oppure, mi potete dire il nome di altri tool da utilizzare che, eventualmente si contestualizzino bene con il Desktop? |

Devi abilitare nel kernel il supporto al frequency scaling, informazioni più dettagliate le trovi nella guida al risparmio energetico presente nella documentazione gentoo.

Se non ha compilato correttamente i moduli del kernel penso di si.

non è un tool, è un applet.
tecnicamente, se hai usato genkernel, sei già a posto, ma devi caricare i moduli. Ad esempio, sul mio centrino:

come puoi leggere nel mio messaggio precedente, il file dove inserire i nomi dei moduli è kernel-2.6 nel percorso /etc/modules.autoload/, quali siano, poi, i moduli specifici, dipende dal tuo processore
prova a caricarli tutti con insmod o modprobe, e vedi un po' che succede
