Somewhat recently, my computer has started to lock up. That by itself is awful, but what makes it worse is that the CAPS LOCK and SCROLL LOCK key start flashing. Any ideas what this indicates?
I wish I knew exactly when this started and what I may have upgraded/downgraded. I might be able to offer better information, but I don't. _________________ -- The world is full of tough guys. It doesn't need me to be one too. |

2.4.20-gentoo-r2.
I think it may be a bios setting that's misconfigured. Today, it happened three times in about an hour.
I have an ASUS A78NX. I disable APIC on the last reboot and so far, so good. I had read somewhere else that the APIC support on this board was flaky, so maybe that'll do the trick.
As Asia once sang: Only Time Will Tell.
If there's other information that might be of use, let me know. I'd be happy to get to the bottom of this. _________________ -- The world is full of tough guys. It doesn't need me to be one too. |

Earlier tonight, it happened again, even before logging in. At least this time I was able to see that it was an OOPS. Buggy kernel?
Unfortunately, I didn't see anything else in there that was descriptive enough to note.
It seems to be getting progressively worse, my box has been down most of tonight. Each reboot seems to make it worse.
Maybe it's time to try a dev kernel. _________________ -- The world is full of tough guys. It doesn't need me to be one too. |
