lonegd,

What does
Code:
ifconfig -a
show with all those modules loaded ?

You are looing for an extra ethX or a usbX device, where X is a digit.
If you built Module Unloading support into your kernel, then lsmod would try to tell you where the various modules were used and how many times. You would also be abe to use
Code:
modprobe -r <module_name>
to remove modules, so you can try the effects of various modoule parameters.

Code:
modinfo <module>
will tell you what parameters modules support.
