|
|
Hi,
I changed my .xinitrc file to start sawfish. I also installed sawfish merlin extensions. I copied the file that came w/ the portage (sawfishrc) and put that in my home dir. sawfish starts up fine, but, it does not read the .sawfishrc file. I can run sawfish-client - < .sawfishrc and this updates my apps menu just the way it's supposed to. However, it does not start the pager or the clock or the iconbox. my question is twofold.
1) Why is my .sawfishrc file not being read?
2) How can I get the pager and icon box to startup?
I would really appreciate any suggestions. I have been going crazy trying to figure this out for the last few days.
Thanks

Does it beep during sawfish startup? When "yes" your .sawfishrc got an error.
I also use sawfish, but without merlin extensions, because I couldn't get them to work. I removed all the "merlin require" stuff from .sawfishrc and everything worked fine.
I actually don't need the merlin extensions anyway. |

thanks for replying.
It does beep during startup. The strange thing is the sawfish-client program doesn't complain. oh well. I got so frustrated that I started using fluxbox and am quite happy with it.
