Hi,
what can I possibly expect out of this little machine:
- Sparc Ultra 1 Creator 3D
- Seagate baracuda 2Gb disc
- 167Mhz
- 640MB ram
- Creator 3D videocard
- Extra SCSI adaptor with NIC intergrated.
Ok, what can I expect of this little machine. Can I run a decend XFree86? I'm currently at work and the machine is at home bootstrapping Took me a while to get tftp running under x86 gentoo, but It's up and running _________________ Workstation: Shuttle SN85G4v2, AMD64 3200+, 512MB, 250GB sata, Radeon 9800 Pro.

Little progress I've made, yet great time it took.
I've started the bootstrap at ~8:40am here and it just finished at 0:40am.. 16 hours for a bootstrap... *yikes*
now for the rest of the system _________________ Workstation: Shuttle SN85G4v2, AMD64 3200+, 512MB, 250GB sata, Radeon 9800 Pro.

I've got almost the same system...
Sun ULTRA1 167MHz
Creator3D
640MB RAM
36GB HDD
So far, I've completed the inital build, and am emerging packages now. X installed fine, trying to get KDE or preferably Gnome now.
The bootstrap was the most painful part...just remember to put that -java flag in...it really helps! |
