Hello,
I use fluxbox without any kde or gnome support and I want to use k3b. When I start to emerge k3b, I get an error message like this
Code: |
kombinat counters # emerge -pv k3b
[ebuild N ] app-cdr/k3b-0.12.14 +alsa -arts -css -debug +dvdr +encode +ffmpeg -flac -hal -kde +mp3 -musepack -musicbrainz -sndfile +vcd +vorbis -xinerama 0 kB
make all-recursive

allright, also I try to emerge k3b with the useflag kde, but I get the same error message by package kdesu:
Code: |
kombinat counters # USE="kde" emerge k3b -pv
[ebuild N ] kde-base/kdesu-3.5.0 -arts -debug -kdeenablefinal -kdehiddenvisibility -kdexdeltas -xinerama 0 kB

Moved from Installing Gentoo to Multimedia. Note that you can put code in [code][/ code] tags instead of making the font blue. |

Ok, your emerge --info looks good to me. The "illegal instruction" is sometimes triggered by using assembler commands (i. e. from SSE2 which isn't supported by Athlon processors) that your CPU doesn't understand. The packages usually compile just fine but fail to run in such cases.
Could it be that you emerged either binutils or kdelibs (a depency of k3b) with different USE flags?
You can find out by looking at /var/db/pkg/kde-base/kdelibs-<version>/USE (you should post that one). |

I've tried to emerge with and without any other useflag now. But I get always the same error message. It seems that problem has nothing to do with any useflag. |

Re-read my previous reply. I was not talking about any USE flags for k3b itself. |
