Kopete can connect to IRC as root only [solved]

Hello,

I just updated to KDE3.5 using the split ebuilds.

I'm trying to use Kopete.

Kopete can connect to Yahoo!

But kopete cannot connect to IRC, sending this message:

Could you possibly start kopete from a terminal and post its output? Maybe that gives an idea about the problem.

Well, there is no output when starting from the console.

Hm. Can you use other ICR clients? Do you have some sort of firewall active?

Yes, I can use Xchat without any problem. I'm trying to swtich to kopete, but it seems it doesn't like IRC.

Does any one use Kopete (KDE 3.5.2) for IRC on a PPC ?
Why would IRC on Kopete work only as root and not as regular user ?

run kopete with --nofork option

I have to fill the Real Name in the serveur config box. User name is not enough.
