i have two gentoo laptops (not identical at all). i want to enable the standby key on one of them, but i can't figure out the scancode of that key.
when i push keys on one laptop dmesg gives an atkbd line telling me the scancode but on the other laptop no such line comes out with dmesg. do i have to run a program or enable something in the kernel for dmesg. i have CONFIG_KEYBOARD_ATKBD enabled in both kernels.

BUMP.
I really don't get it. why is atkbd not outputting anything on dmesg? really really weird. what does atkbd depend on? |
