I have dnscache set up and working fine. I also have tinydns working. Dnscache is bound to 192.168.0.1 and tinydns to 127.0.0.1.
I had in tinydns specified some hosts, such as example.com, to have internal ip address, say 10.0.0.1. In reality, it's address is 1.2.3.4.
When I query the address from a local network machine, if it's not yet cached by dnscache, it will ask for it from outside, getting 1.2.3.4 even though I have in dnscache settings places the tinydns machine, 127.0.0.1, as first DNS To go ask for.
How do I prioritize this so that queries for example.com always return 10.0.0.1 instead of the actual ip, 1.2.3.4? Meaning the local tinydns is always asked first and only after that the rest? I need to have the outside (real) DNSs also in dnscache's setup, so that valid name resolution works, I just need to be able to "overwrite" some addresses when queried from local network. |
