|
|
Hello!
I'm new to Gentoo. I would like to discover Gentoo, but I don't know a lot about kernel config. Can I use the CD's kernel, or I have to compile it myself? I didn't find anything about it.
Thanks for the answers, or the URLs

If you don't want to try to configure your kernel, use genkernel.
You're probably following the handbook. In the kernel configuration chapter, there's a part for manual configuration and another for genkernel, follow the part for genkernel. It will still compile it for you, but you won't have to configure it (if you use "all").
When you find some time, try to learn to configure your kernel, it isn't that hard, but you'll need to know what hardware there is in your computer. |
