Hi,
my dmesg reports a spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7. This "error" appears after the nvidia drivers (8762) are loaded with X.Org. Im using the kernel 2.6.15-gentoo-r1.

Well, so far i have no real problems or lockups (crashed only 3 months ago while burning a cd with k3b.), but i want this problem to be solved.

I read about this spurious irq in the forum yet, but the problems the other users got are slightly different and their systems locked up. I found a nice link on google on this topic, and it was said that nvidia binary drivers can cause this error. Do i have to worry now that something's wrong with my graphics card (pci-e, nvidia 7800gt)? Or could it be caused by irq sharing (same irq for ehci, soundcard and graphicscard)?

OK, and one more thing I found in dmesg, but this message appears even if i dont load the nvidia drivers (maybe it has to do with this problem?):

Code:

Thx, grufti
