I am setting up my printer (Cannon S-750) with Cups but when I go to loacalhost:631, I get the folloing error:
An error occured while loading http://localhost:631:
Could not connect to host localhost (port 631).
I have tried with my firewall up and down no luck.
Have Cups-1.1.18-r4.
Have emerge and umerge Cups, foomatic.
Have tried differnt browsers.javascript:emoticon('')

try looking through /etc/cups/cupsd.conf
There is a section on what ports it broadcasts/accepts.
Can you connect to other services that use localhost (or ping it?) If not, edit your /etc/hosts file and add
yournetworkipaddress localhost |

Silly me, I forgot to start cupsd and was using "localhost" instead of my localhost name.javascript:emoticon('')
Now lets see if I can set this printer up.
