I have an M-Audio Revolution 5.1 card (ICE1724 aka ENVY24HT). Playing a wav file with aplay, the process gets killed and trips a kernel oops. The system stays up, at least.

Here is my dmesg output:
Code:

Relevant extra information:
I'm on an AMD X2, running the gentoo 2.6.16-r9 kernel, using the alsa module in alsa-driver-1.0.11. I can't revert to an older driver, because the older driver didn't give me volume control for the DACs.

Any ideas? I could really use some help here.

Problem solved. It was an incompatibility between the modules compiled with the kernel and those compiled with alsa-driver. Yes, it was silly to have both.
