Is there any way to make Xorg (or KDE, for that matter) to use vbetool for suspending display instead of xorg's own routines?
The reason is that two of my laptops (one with S3 Savage, one with i915 chipsets) don't turn of the LCD backlight when entering suspend mode (DPMS). Vbetool does it perfectly - the only question is that how can I make KDE or Xorg call vbetool instead of the internal DPMS routines after certain timeout (like 5 minutes).
Is there any way to change the "DPMS handler" in xorg? I'm using xorg 7.1 at the moment.. |
