ALSA SB16 PnP Update
Updates the driver to the new pnp apis. Although it has only been tested
for compiliation, it is an improvement over the existing broken code.
These changes are based on a update by Shaheed Haque <srhaque@iee.org>. |
I was wondering whether the code for soundblasters was plain broken - I couldn't get sbawe support in the kernel to work. Looks like it was, and somebody is trying to fix it.
I'll try it in a bit and let you know if it works. _________________ Want Free games?

Didn't work for me. It did compile for a change, but then panicked the kernel on boot (if compiled in) or failed to load, if a module.
I have hope that 2.5.X + sbawe + alsa will work someday, but for me at least that day has yet to come so I'm stuck with OSS unless I drop back to 2.4.20. _________________ Sometimes the appropriate response to reality is to go insane.

Heh, I was surprised to see this thread pop back up - I'd forgotten all about it.
In any case, sbawe sound has worked perfectly with 2.5/2.6 for several months now for me _________________ Sometimes the appropriate response to reality is to go insane.
