I'm getting some kind of udev messages at boot up about something being deprecated. This just started after doing an emerge -uaD world yesterday. Is there a udev log file somewhere ? What's it called ? I'd like to post the messages here and see if whatever is amiss can be squared away. It's annoying! |

There are a couple things you can do to see what's going on:
1. You can check /var/log/emerge.log to see if there are any pertinent messages during the emerge of UDEV.
2. You can emerge showconsole, which logs message during boot. Then you can actually read the boot messages. |

It's nothing to worry about. There's a rule that automatically names symlinks to cd/dvd drives, and it uses a specifier to
add a number to the symlinks. They're getting rid of that specifier, "%e", at some point in the future. _________________ Thomas S. Howard |
