xine wmv playback problem

hi, i got a problem with .wmv playback in xine. It says the codec is not recognized.
I have installed the windows_all_20060501 codec package from www.mplayerhq.com in /usr/lib/win32 and the problem still occurs.

Mplayer will play some .wmv files but not all, I can hear the sound of the ones he does not play.

I tried adding this string to my xine config file, but xine keeps deleting it everytime I start:
decoder.external.win32_codecs_path: /usr/lib/win32

Thought it might help but on the other hand I know that /usr/lib/win32 is where xine looks for codecs by default.

Anyone know a solution to this?

Have you tried " emerge win32codecs" instead of installing the ones from the mplayer website?

you can emerge xine-libs using win32codecs USE flag

I had tried emerging the win32codecs before manually trying the packages at www.mplayerhq.com

I have no problems whatsoever with Xvid, DiVX or anything else, only certain .wmv files cannot be played.
