hi everybody,
i had not done a whole system update (with emerge system) for a long time. So i did it finally last night (about 51 packages updated).
After that i rebooted my gentoo it breaks at the point where the hd´s are checked.
After "Checking root filesystem..." the system halts with a message that my superblock on my root partition / is invalid.
So i started my pc with an live cd to test my root hd. But everything is OK! fs2ck says that my hd is clean, and even mounting the root partition is possible.
For me it seems like that something in my startup configuration changed after the system update. Is there something which is should now about important changes in the past time? |

If you used etc-update without reading the directions properly, then you may have erased some important files (like /etc/fstab).

(don't use -3 or -5 if you're unsure what to do) |
