Mobo with pci-E and agp-E X switches to pci-E on start?

I recently upgrade processors and motherboards and am using xorg-x11 7.0-r(latest 7.0 revision) THe new motherboard i got has both pci-express and agp-express, i told it in the bios to use agp-e as the main video device.

everything in the console works fine, I copied over my old xorg.conf because I'm using the same monitor, video card, keyboard, mouse, and version of xorg. I'm sure i have nvidia-glx and nvidia-kernel emerged and nvidia.ko is loaded succesfully at start.

when i run startx, it stops using my video card and i cant get it to go back so i can't see if there are any errors at all after about 30 seconds the videocard detects that its not bieng used and cuts the connection to the monitor. Switching to other consoles doesnt work. Any ideas?

glxinfo

produces something like

error, no such device (null)

and it said it failed to open the nvidia driver, but in log it says it found the 6600 gt on pci:0:5:0 then fails on starting it.
