Every Qt based appI have starts the DCOP server before it launches. Is there a way to disable DCOP-servers?

KDE apps have to have DCOP.

If you are running KDE, DCOP should be started when KDE boots. On the other hand, If you are running another window manager (such as fluxbox), when you start a KDE app, it will drag up all the KDE libs and programs it depends on, and when the program finishes, they all unload.

It might be best if you started a few services such as dcop with your window manager (edit the session file) so that KDE apps start faster outside of KDE.
