I have a server 800 km far away running and like to switch that one remotley to gentoo. Is that possible ?
I thing i just need to download the tarballs and execute them ?
Or could it be I may expect to many difficulties ?

Hi,
as gentoo boots and installs froms CD you harddisk, a booted and functional Linux should be good.On one Partition. So havein tarball-stage1 should be fine. INstalling as if booted from CD, but in your case from another partition.
BUT as usual: maybe you test first,
before you have something missing. ;)
