I have used Red Hat for some time, but am seeking something better, how does Gentoo compare with Red Hat? On this gentoo.org site there is the Get Gentoo link, can I just download a CD ISO image and burn it on a CD and install Gentoo?
How does Gentoo handle software installs, Red Hat uses RPMs to install any software package, what does Gentoo use as in install system for software packages?
Thank folks!

There is a Live CD available. Gentoo uses a system called portage. You simply type: emerge <package name> and the package will be downloaded and installed, assuming you have an active internet connection. |

Better read the handbook first!
If you don't you'll be in for (probably unpleasant) surprises.
The difference between a Gentoo install and RedHat is huge. |
