Hi,

I couldn't figure out how to copy the text from bash and paste into links, so here is a literal screenshot :D :

Any ideas?? Windows works OK etc... no drive errors. Is this an anomily or a problem?

EDIT: The image doesn't display. You know what to do. :)

Best regards,
AstroTux.

Hi,

Hmm.... that is what I was wondering too. :(

It is a Maxtor DiamondMax 9 80Gb HDD (it is about 5 years old).

I've partitioned the drives for Linux and it seems OK. I do have a Windows partition on there already if that makes a difference?

Best regards,
AstroTux.

It's most likely dying. You're lucky you got 5 years out of it. Maxtor sucks.

Emerge smartmontools and run the comprehensive SMART test on it.
