Hi,
I couldn't figure out how to copy the text from bash and paste into links, so here is a literal screenshot :

Any ideas?? Windows works OK etc... no drive errors. Is this an anomily or a problem?
EDIT: The image doesn't display. You know what to do.

is this a seagate? apparently it could be the result of some bad sectors. id back up my data udner win, and go on with the install. _________________ there are pinheads everywhere.

Hi,
Hmm.... that is what I was wondering too.
It is a Maxtor DiamondMax 9 80Gb HDD (it is about 5 years old).
I've partitioned the drives for Linux and it seems OK. I do have a Windows partition on there already if that makes a difference?

It's most likely dying. You're lucky you got 5 years out of it. Maxtor sucks.
Emerge smartmontools and run the comprehensive SMART test on it. |
