What is your card ? ( lspci, lsusb)

What is the error reported by dmesg ?

Did you compile your kernel yourself ? If so, did you add support for your ethernet card either as module or built in ?

Sry, Didn't think my first post through ^^

Heres my lspci output (the network parts)
Code:

00:04.0 Ethernet controller: nVidia Corporation nForce2 Ethernet Controller (rev a1)
02:01.0 Ethernet controller: 3Com Corporation 3C920B-EMB Integrated Fast Ethernet Controller [Tornado] (rev 40)

Here are the modules the boot cd loads, might be helpfull.
Code:

bluetooth              32484  1 hci_usb
parport                22472  1 parport_pc
mii                     3840  1 3c59x
dm_mod                 37784  1 dm_mirror
libata                 36104  15 pdc_adma,sata_mv,ata_piix,ahci,sata_qstor,sata_vsc,sata_uli,sata_sis,sata_sx4,sata_nv,sata_via,sata_svw,sata_sil24,sata_sil,sata_promise
ieee1394               57656  3 eth1394,sbp2,ohci1394
usbcore                80516  8 hci_usb,sl811_hcd,ohci_hcd,uhci_hcd,usb_storage,usbhid,ehci_hcd

I was about to post the interesting part from my kernel save to but it turned out that not everything was listed there..

So if anyone could help me specify wich network driver my two cards use I would be a happy boy =)

*edit*
If you need more info just tell me and I'll fetch it for you. I'm still a n00b when it comes to configuring linux :(

I think the module needed to get your ethernet card is 3x59x. Is it compiled in your kernel either as a module or built in ?
