|
|
Hi. I was installing Gentoo from stage 1. I got as far as
Code: |
# cd /usr/portage
# scripts/bootstrap.sh
|
My machine ran for about 1.5 hours. Then, all of the sudden, I got a compile error. What should I do, run the portage again...or reinstall?
Thanks
Update:
Here is the error message: Code: |
** BFD does not support target i586-pc-none.
**Look in bfd/config.bfd for supported targets
make...[configure-opcodes] Error
|
I do have a Amd k6 -- i586 processor, so is that the problem? Or am I doing something else wrong? _________________ ~Charles

Your CHOST variable in make.conf is probably wrong.
Try CHOST="i586-pc-linux-gnu"
or CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" |

Well, that would make sense! I just had =i586 not the -pc-etc. etc.! Thanks! _________________ ~Charles
