|
|
Hi there,
I set up a new amd64 system with gentoo and I'm used to bash's Alt+. shortcut.
On my old system I was prompted to enter a search pattern to select one of my latest commands. (console, xterm, aterm)
Now, I can only scroll though my latest commands history one by one, pressing Alt+..
I searched the forums and google and found out that I've got to put the follwing lines into my ~/.Xdefauls to enablbe this feature, but I haven't found anything about how to get the feature to work correctly.
Code: | XTerm*metaSendsEscape: true
XTerm*eightBitInput: false |
I'm thankful for every hint.
Greetings, Stefan

Hmmm, well I usually just type the first few letters e.g. emer and then use Pg.Up and Pg.Down to scroll through the commands that start with that. Not sure what you're after though. |

Well, I don't know why, but after posting my problem I began to emerge some other things and now it works.
I'll check my logfiles for a possible solution and post it here for others with the same issue, if I find out what made the difference.
Thanks so far, Stefan |

Moved from Installing Gentoo to Other Things Gentoo.
This is not an installation related issue, so I think it belongs in OTG. _________________ Jorge.
